How is your organization creatively moving LA forward?

Young Actors Projects offers after-school classes and summer programs for youth ages 5-18. We are a team taught performing arts program dedicated to the growth and self-expression of young artists in Los Angeles. We create a fun and exciting atmosphere for students to explore their creativity and gain lasting self-confidence. Our Vision is that students will have the opportunity to explore the art of acting and performance in an environment that supports their needs and dreams. They will discover their unique potential, share their voice, and create something truly special as a diverse team. Communities in L.A. will support their efforts and be positively impacted by the transformation and growth that occurs onstage and off.

Why does your organization need this fundraiser event?

Our fundraising efforts center solely around our programs. We need funds to be able to provide tuition scholarships for participants from under-served areas of Los Angeles. Our goal each session is to offer scholarships to at least 25% of our students, and every session the scholarship requests from deserving students keep coming in. Right now we need to establish an actual fund to support these scholarships, so we can continue to offer our very valuable community performing arts programs.
