How is your organization creatively moving LA forward?

P.S. ARTS’ goal is to ensure comprehensive, sustainable arts education for every child in our community, and to continue to increase the positive impact that our program has on the academic, social, and emotional wellbeing of the children we serve. We partner with underserved public schools to provide more than 11,000 students with in-school, standards-based education in music, theater and/or visual arts every week. Because being part of a nurturing and productive community is essential to children’s well being, we also seek to provide professional development for classroom teachers and arts and cultural activities to our extended partner school families that encourage collaboration, strong community spirit, and a culture of giving back.

Why does your organization need this fundraiser event?

P.S. ARTS would raise not only much needed funds but also our public profile, leading to increased support and revenue from our community. We are the only artists-in-residence program in LA serving entire schools and seamlessly integrating arts education into the regular school day for the full school year. With more than half of our 11,000 students living below poverty, we want to continue to provide our nationally recognized arts programs to the children and families that need them most.
