How is your organization creatively moving LA forward?

Filmmakers Alliance (FA) is a community of film artists dedicated to the advancement of true independent film through community action. FA provides a unique mutual support system through which members share time, energy, expertise, resources and, most importantly, creative support for one another's film projects from concept through distribution. We work together to restore humanity, authenticity, diversity, originality, intelligence, relevance, personal vision and emotional resonance to American Cinema. FA is a multi-layered support organization with an emphasis on community and aesthetic self-empowerment. Hundreds of films have been developed and created through FA and have screened in dozens of major festivals throughout the world.

Why does your organization need this fundraiser event?

FA is a grassroots organization funded by the community it serves. It is not beholden to ANY interests and/or agendas outside of those that serve our community of artist filmmakers. Funding, therefore, has been an on-going struggle, quite frankly. We can use any support available to keep our full menu of programs vibrant. These include: Monthly Meetings, Film Screenings, Seminars, Discussion and Feedback Forums, Staged Readings, Fiscal Sponsorship, Grants, Labs, VisionFest and more.
